The Toadstool brooch is inspired by the pure joy of spotting Fly Agaric mushrooms—the iconic red ones with white spots—during my autumnal woodland walks. Their vibrant colors and whimsical appearance always bring a smile to my face, evoking visions of a magical fairy land hidden among the trees. Each time I encounter these enchanting fungi, I’m reminded of the beauty and wonder that nature offers, which is exactly what I aimed to capture in this piece. The brooch serves as a reminder of those serene moments spent wandering through the woods, celebrating the magic of autumn.

This brooch was inspired by a photograph I took of Fly Agaric Toadstools by the shore of the beautiful Loch Kinord in the Cairngorms in Scotland. I just loved the way that the larger toadstool was sheltering the smaller one and felt that it needed to be recreated as an acrylic brooch.
